Common Ground Chiropractic is located at 2927 NE Everett Street in Portland, Oregon, at Common Ground a healing Center in NE Portland since 1978. The setting is in the Laurelhurst/Kerns neighborhood, providing a relaxed and professional setting.

Chiropractic care promotes health, healing, and wellness. It is not just for the care of back pain, but is a wellness-oriented approach, empowering individuals to return to a healthy condition. Common Ground Chiropractic accepts patients with automobile accident and work related injuries, as well as sports injuries and those who desire healthy body maintenance for continued life balancing, stress management, and increased energy flow.

Common Ground Chiropractic primarily utilizes a protocol called network spinal analysis (NSA) which is a gentle method to help your body in developing a healing strategy. We also utilize computerized spinal analysis, cranial sacral, light touch methods, massage, reiki, relaxation and health counseling. One area of focus is that of stress relief, which includes both physical and emotional challenges. Stress can be caused by accidents, injuries, as well as physical and mental tension. This often shows up in musculoskeletal imbalances and causes nerve pressure. Through our treatment methods, we can help relieve stress and allow you to function more easily and effortlessly.

Treatment is usually very gentle in nature, yet powerful and often life changing. Our methods seek to help align not only the spine but promote harmony in the body, mind and spirit. It is a systems approach to the spinal and nervous systems. Our treatment methods incorporate Network Spinal Analysis which promotes relaxation in the body, mind and spirit. NSA clears blockages which interfere with spinal energy flow. The spinal cord and brain are actually one functioning unit. As the spinal cord passes through the neck and back, it becomes the major conduit for the brain to send energy relays, affecting our balance, coordination, and overall well being. This soft, vital spinal cord is protected by our vertebrae, which are hard bones encasing this energy line. The vertebrae are in turn, cushioned by discs, which are shock absorbing cushions. From these discs, spinal nerves emanate from the cord, passing through the openings between the vertebrae, moving our life force energy through our body by our own innate intelligence. When this energy from the nervous system is functioning properly, individuals are better able to recover from life's challenges, stresses, injuries and accidents. This is the reason Dr. Mantell uses NSA, aiding you to speed your recovery and enjoy a healthier body and be in better balance.

Elliott J. Mantell, D.C., director of the clinic, received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Western States Chiropractic. Dr. Mantell has been in practice since 1981. He continues his education and training, attending post-graduate chiropractic and wellness seminars with leaders in revolutionary healing techniques in the United States, Europe and other parts around the world.
